This cool video of a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a must-see for all muscle car enthusiasts! This sweet ride has been restored to the original factory color scheme of tuxedo black and classic white, and under the hood is the beefy L34 396 Big-block V8 with four-speed manual transmission. BF Goodrich tires adorn the SS wheels, and the black leather interior looks brand spanking new! At the time the video was filmed, the car was on display at Passing Lane Motors in Fenton, MO, and their teams allowed the film crew of Ramblin’ Around to take it out for a test drive. You can hear the rumble of the robust engine as the Chevelle is puts through its paces on some old two-lane back roads. The Chevelle was in production beginning model year 1964 through 1978, and was one of Chevrolet’s most successful offerings. The 1970 was among the second of three generations of this popular brand. The 1970 Chevelle was considered a mid-sized car and was available in a sport sedan, four-door sedan, sport coupe, convertible, station wagon and coupe utility.
The SS 396 featured in the video was originally configured with a 350 hp turbo-jet 396 V8 engine, special suspension and wide oval tires. It took the Chevelle about 12 seconds to complete a quarter-mile with trap speeds of 112+ mph. Check out this great black and white Chevy Chevelle in the video below, and SHARE if you like it.
