Australian car culture is bizarre. On one hand, there’s a large public opposition to reckless driving–see the outcry over the Ford Focus RS’s Drift Mode–while on the other hand, there are people who drive 600-hp mini trucks. Even with strong “anti-hooning” laws (which we swear are real), Australian enthusiasts still find new, inventive ways to screw around with their cars. This video of a ute doing a burnout while being towed by another ute is a few years old, but it’s just making the rounds on the car internet, and it’s easy to see why. These two Australians and their Holden Utes have elevated the burnout to a high art form. What’s captured on this video is–no exaggeration–the peak of mankind’s achievement. These dudes have reached burnout nirvana. There is one way to improve on this magnificent feat, however: a double burnout. The ute doing the towing needs to do a burnout too.
Also, to be serious for a moment, please don’t try this at home, or anywhere really. This could go very, very wrong.
